FOR ARTISTS

The Incubator Arts Project’s programs are curated through open call; all artists are welcome to apply. To apply for the Residency program or Short Form, please join our email list or watch our website for requests for work.

NEW PERFORMANCE SERIES

The New Performance Series is a co-production effort for companies and individual artists who are mounting a full production. The Residency productions (usually world premieres) form the centerpiece of the Incubator Arts Project’s programming, and each season offers a varied collection of live art. The program is curated by Travis Just, Peter Ksander, Samara Naeymi, Brendan Regimbal and Shannon Sindelar.

Please note that the call for applications happens on the Incubator website each fall. Please join the mailing list via the footer below for updates. Programming is currently established through June 2012. The New Performance series does not offer development space but does include support from the Incubator staff for various aspects of production.

For questions regarding the Residency program, please contact Samara Naeymi at samara@incubatorarts.org or 212.420.1916.

MUSIC

The IAP’s Music program presents radical, genre-blind music from composers and musicians based in New York City and around the world. The series (formerly known as Experimental Music under the Ontological) occurs approximately twice a month and covers as broad a range of sound art as possible (improvisation, time-based, graphic, electronic, text-based/verbal/performance, new composition, installation, homemade devices etc.). The Music program is curated by Travis Just.

The Music program does not send out a formal call for proposals; please send inquiries to Travis Just at travis@incubatorarts.org.

SHORT FORM

Short Form is an interdisciplinary forum for artists who are looking to explore new forms and styles in a community based workshop and performance situation. This program gives artists from a variety of backgrounds including theater, performance art, dance and installation, the opportunity to each create a small repertoire of four 10-minute performances that are thematically connected, but independent pieces of art.  Where a short story has necessary structural differences from a novel, the curators assemble artists who are interested in exploring what similar structural changes and necessities arise in compressed durational theater. Approximately each month beginning in January four artists will each present a new short work to the general public with a culmination performance happening in the summer. Curated by Samara Naeymi and Brendan Regimbal.

Please note that that call for applications happens on the Incubator website each winter. Please join the mailing list via the footer below for updates.

For questions regarding Short Form, please contact Samara Naeymi at samara@incubatorarts.org.

Internships require approximately 20 hours a week including days and evenings. Internships are available for varying time periods during the year--please inquire for more information.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. To apply, please send a cover letter and theatrical resume to samara@incubatorarts.org.

EMPLOYMENT
