Party in the USA

Based, in part, on Gelb’s experiences temping at Deutsche Bank in the fall of 2008, this surreal picaresque follows a jobless, disaffected 20-something, as he is temporarily employed by a financial giant to maybe cover up evidence documenting their involvement in the imminent mortgage crisis. This gleefully immersive production finds the audience in a corporate boardroom besieged by projections, exuberant choreography and a live drummer, not to mention plenty of free beer and strudel. Party in the USA is a sensory overload, a frantic race to the edge of the fiscal cliff; for this is the way the world ends: not with a bang, but with a handful of psychedelic drugs and a 12 oz. bottle of Bud Light Lime.
